Stefaan Vandenbussche (° 1958) is from Heule (Kortrijk).
He has been interested in the history of the First World War from an early age, among other things through stories told to him by grandmothers and great-grandmothers.
Since 2000 he has been a parliamentary assistant in the Flemish Parliament and in that capacity he was able to contribute to a number of resolutions, including those of 30 April 2009 'concerning the Flemish policy for a living memory of the First World War' whereby the Flemish Government was encouraged to start work to commemorate the 2014-2018 centenary.
Stefaan also gives lectures on 'Women in the Great War' which he has brought over a hundred times throughout Flanders and Brussels.

In order to be able to turn his hobby into a profession, he obtained the degree of Bachelor in Tourism and Recreation Management at the Vives Highschool in Bruges in June 2018 and became self-employed in October 2019.
